GOLD LEVEL UK SNIFFER DOG 6 Week course

The UK SNIFFER DOG GOLD LEVEL course is aimed at ADVANCED LEVEL and suitable for those who have attended a UKSD Bronze and Silver Level course or workshop.

 In UKSD Gold level course we work on new indication skills, revisit existing odours in our dogs scentwork library as well as adding a new target odour and add water and people searches into the mix!  We add a new dimension to our active catnip retrieves and use different textures and novel shapes for our dogs to sniff out    

At the end of the course, we will run a fun mock trial which will include water, novel and people searches

About our Scentwork Classes..

  • We do have places for reactive dogs, please contact us by clicking HERE before booking your slot so we can discuss the specific needs of you and your dog and whether our course is suitable at this time.
  • Relaxed and friendly classes which take place in a spacious, purpose built indoor dog training barn.
  • Places are restricted to no more than 5 dogs on each course, so do book early to avoid disappointment! 
  • Scentwork kit and online support provided to complement your 6 week Scentwork course. You have access to the online content for one year.
  •  Videos on how to do each exercise included! Plus a WhatsApp group created for GOLD classes where you can submit videos for feedback and gain useful tips throughout the course.

The Larches Paw Paddock, Larches Farm, Thornbury, BS35 3TT

The training area is a spacious purpose built dog training barn. We will be working both inside the barn as well as outside - weather permitting!

We have plenty of parking and a toilet is on site.

Scentwork Dog Training: FAQ's

 I hold a Gold Level Instructor qualification with UK Sniffer Dogs, as well as being Trusted Instructor with Enigma Canine, and a WDSA instructor. You can read my UK Sniffer Dog reviews HERE

Scentwork taps into a dog's innate abilities, to cater to both their mental and physical needs.  
Sniffing fulfils a major part of our dogs sensory needs, helping  them feel contented and relaxed  
Scentwork is mindfulness for dogs, giving nervous, anxious dogs something to focus on and feel happier and more positive going into new or stressful situations going forward.

All our training is founded on modern methods based on sound clinical evidence. We pride ourselves on offering kind and ethical coaching systems based on supporting the needs of both dog and dog owner.

I have a kind and empathetic training ethos combined with a science based approach to dog-training.  

In order to learn something new, our dogs must be feel comfortable in their environment. Whilst we do our very best to accommodate sensitive dogs, if you think your dog might struggle around other dogs, this may not be right class. Please do check out our individual sessions which might be better suited.  

I do not allow any aversives ( choke collar, prong collar) or any jerking or shouting at dogs in my classes.

Absolutely!
We welcome fully vaccinated pups from 12 weeks old. Scentwork are calm, low intensity classes that are great at helping young dogs develop their confidence in a safe and comfortable environment.
Obviously we have to make allowances, as puppies tire quickly and are not able to concentrate on a task as long as more mature dogs.
